We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as an intern at one of our renowned touristic partners in Agrigento, Sicily. This internship is ideal for students or graduates who are passionate about history, tourism, and cultural heritage. You will gain hands-on experience in the tourism sector while exploring the rich history and landmarks of Agrigento.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Management of Incoming Flows on Site:
  • Monitoring traffic at entry points.
  • Coordinating with ticketing staff.
  • Assisting in visitor crowd management.
Tourist Guidance and Support:
  • Guiding tourists through different areas and providing cultural and historical context.
  • Responding to tourist inquiries and offering assistance.
  • Ensuring visitors comply with site regulations.
Front Office Management and Paperwork:
  • Processing ticket sales.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks and documentation.

Training and learning elements of internship

You will acquire knowledge on: Tourism Operations: Visitor flow management, ticketing, and crowd coordination; Cultural Heritage: Guiding tourists with historical context of Agrigento; Customer Service: Handling inquiries in English/Italian, assisting visitors; Front Office Admin: Ticket sales, paperwork, and basic office tasks; Language & Cultural Skills: Practical use of English/Italian and immersion in Sicilian culture.
You will acquire skills in: Communication Skills โ€“ in both English and/or Italian with international visitors; Customer Service โ€“ managing inquiries, support, and problem-solving; Cultural Awareness โ€“ understanding and presenting historical and cultural content; Organizational Skills โ€“ managing visitor flows and handling administrative tasks; Teamwork โ€“ collaborating with staff and adapting in a professional environment; Adaptability โ€“ working in a multicultural, dynamic tourism setting.

Skills and experience โ—๏ธ Requirements:
  • You must be eligible for the Erasmus program.
  • You must be able to commit to 4 months working on-site in Agrigento, Sicily.
  • You must have an intermediate level of either English or Italian (B1).
