Your tasks and responsibilities
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Attend resident queries at reception and provide a high level of customer service
- Create and prepare welcome packs and room key cards for new arrivals
- Perform room checks, various cleaning tasks, and assist with laundry when needed
- Receive, check, and store deliveries arriving at the residence
- Support kitchen staff with setting up or serving breakfast, if required
- Prepare and check arrivals and departures lists, and update residence inventories
- Plan and lead activities for residents, if and when required
- Bring sandwiches from the school to the residence for international protection residents using a scooter or bicycle
- Place orders for kitchen and cleaning supplies and run errands such as purchasing stationery or birthday items
- Assist other departments as needed, including accommodation, HR, reception, social programme, and exam invigilation
The internship consists of 35 working hours per week, usually divided into 8-hour shifts with a 1-hour lunch break included. Shifts can be scheduled anytime between 7:00 and 23:00, Monday to Sunday, with 2 days off per week. At present, the intern works from 7:00 to 15:00, Monday to Friday, including a lunch break. Your weekly schedule will be confirmed by your manager in advance.
During your internship, you will have the opportunity to live with a host family and experience Irish culture in a real and personal way. Our families are welcoming and happy to share their homes with international interns. As many homes in Ireland are older, you may notice features such as carpets or varying humidity levels depending on the weather. Cleanliness standards can differ slightly from one household to another, but all families will provide clear guidelines on household routines, such as heating use and bathroom schedules. This is a paid internship, and you will receive a monthly contribution of โฌ850 to support your living expenses during your stay.
