About the Company

At the Centre for Social Sciences in Budapest, over 200 researchers from Hungary and beyond tackle big questions about how societies work — from politics and law to digital networks and minority rights. If you’re interested in real-world impact and cross-border research, this is the place.

The Centre brings together experts from political science, sociology, law, and minority studies — often mixing disciplines to explore issues like social inequality, democracy, and European integration. With over 70 ongoing research projects (many funded by the EU), students can get hands-on experience in international collaborations that go beyond theory.

We’re proud of our strong publication record (six academic journals, two indexed in SCOPUS) and our leadership in major European research projects, like the €3M DEMOS project on democracy or the ERC-funded EVILTONGUE project on hate speech.
